-Concealer anywhere you’re red and blotchy, especially around the nose.

-Powder bronzer on forehead, bridge of nose, cheeks, and chin.
-Powder blush on cheeks for a little rosiness.
-Waterproof brown mascara (warmer-looking than black).
-A sheer lipcolor for moist-looking lips.

According to Rebecca Pflueger, president of the lip-care company English Ideas, phenol, an active ingredient in many medicated lip balms, is “very drying.” That dryness prompts you to reapply the balm and a vicious cycle starts. The alternative medicine for seriously chapped lips: balms containing tea tree oil, aloe vera juice, or panthenol, which Pflueger calls “a drink of water for your lips.”
