10 Ways to Boost Your Lead Generation For Xmas by Intelligent Fish
It still fascinates me today that lot of businesses only rely on two or three forms of Lead Generation this is all very well when they are working, but if one or two dry up, you will be in trouble and therefore the secret to good business is to make sure you have at least eight ways to attract new customers.
So my recommendations for the festive online shop keeper are:
Write and list all of your lead generation sources – if you have less than 5, you need MORE. Ideally you want to be able to implement at least 8 forms of lead generation.
Here is a list to you get started:
- Referrals from existing customers – encourage customers to recommend your service.
- Sell your products on eBay – once you have paid your listing fees you probably will not make any money BUT what you have is a new customer! And now your goal is to get that customer to buy from you again from your shop and not eBay.
- Submit Discount Codes on vouchercode.com and other bargain based website communities:
- everydaysale.co.uk
- myvouchercodes.co.uk
- wowvouchercodes.co.uk
- latestdiscountvouchers.co.uk
- moneysavingvouchercodes.co.uk
- Search engine optimisation – read my optimisation article, at Intelligentfish.com
- Google Adwords - take your best selling product, pamper it with content about how good it is from your ‘back office’ or better still create a sales / squeeze page (google this) and then write a PayPerClick advert dedicated to that product.
Be careful on your choice of keyword (if your product is highly competitive) try and select typical three keyword phrases for the search term that a potential shopper would enter. This will reduce the cost of the clicks and still retain a high position on the results page.
- Write reviews about your best selling products and post them at:
- Product Review websites
- Forums and other discussion / community websites
- Price comparison websites - find out if your products are appearing in price comparison websites, if not – create a Google Product Feed, see Google Base
- Get linked with other websites that provide complimentary products/services – so traffic from another business website is attracted.
- Setup a reseller or affiliate scheme
- Create your own product review website and “squeeze pages” to encourage click through to your shop.
