Hybrid Striper and White Bass Fishing Report
Hybrid Striper and White Bass Fishing Report
The White Bass and Hybrid Striper fishing in general gets a little sporadic over the first couple 2 or 3 weeks of June. In general, I’d still call it Very Good, but you will see some days in which you will genuinely have to bear down and scour really hard for keeper sized Fish. The small school fish will quickly appear the majority of mornings and top water activity will increase on almost a day-to-day basis. Many veteran fishermen maintain the first hour or so of daylight is a wonderful time to search for the herons out on the lookout for breakfast.. Tie on the Clear Tiny Torpedo or Blue/Chrome Rat-L-Trap and you’re in business.
(Here’s an excerpt from a June fishing forecast pertaining to the effect of the Full Moon on the bite. I just had the idea you could think it is helpful and a reminder of things to expect!) We have now fished a few afternoon trips in the Full Moon period of June 5th-12th. We certainly have discovered it totally unreal how great the fishing can be in the middle part of the day and early afternoon. We sometimes overlook how Mother Nature, the Solunar Tables and Fish (and really all undomesticated animals) are tied together. On two day trips during the week of June 8th recently a few of the neighborhood fishermen caught and let go about 200 White Bass per trip over the hours of 1PM-5PM. Almost all of the fish were caught on Slabs in water 25′-35′ deep and mainly in the same areas we did not have any kind of luck catching fish on early morning trips that same day! For a extra , there were a number of Hybrid Stripers around 6 lb. plus on the trips!
As the summer trend of deep water, timber, brush piles and bridge posts go into effect crappie fishing should begin becoming far better and better . You will be fishing water in the 20′-25′ depths, but fish will in most cases be suspended shallow early each morning and deeper later in the day. Lots of of us have had luck utilizing small minnows or jigs to catch a lot of the these appetizing fish!
Don’t forget, Father’s Day comes on June 20th this coming year. I am sure Dad would appreciate a Gift Certificate for a Fishing Trip. You might also do just a bit of subtle hinting and see what used accessories he’d enjoy and purchase it for him. Talk about a big surprise! I guarantee he’ll appreciate it even more than yet another new tie!
Now, lastly, don’t neglect the youngsters. Now that they are out of school (Or approaching that date in a few regions in the region.) this is a great time to introduce or reintroduce all of them to the wonders of fishing. and with a little internet searching, you’ll find fishing destinations in close proximity to where you want to vacation. It will not burst your budget and you may provide all your family members with used Shimano fishing reelsas well as a nice used saltwater Fly Fishing rod. Summer is an excellent Time to have the Kids on the Lake! Get out early, catch a few fish and appreciate some time together again! Are going to be grown up before you are ready for it. Don’t miss out on the diminishing opportunites of fishing along with your kids.
