Early 2007 saw the annoucement that Natalie would star in Australian horror film Prey alongside Jesse Johnson.
Set in the Outback of Western Australia, PREY follows a group of six on a holiday through the desert, where they encounter a deadly creature of aboriginal legend known as Baal.
Promotion for the movie began quickly. As filming began information about the film was added to the internet movie database and the popular MySpace social networking site.
In July more information about Natalie's role in the movie. The Herald Sun annouced that Natalie would play a medic who gets caught up in the mysterious outback events alongside American tourists. A single still was released showing Natalie in surgical scrubs.
Late July saw media outlets seizing on the news that a lesbian shower scene featuring Natalie's character may be sliced from the final cut of the movie.
